This might not be the best place to post this question, but here it goes.

I have been thinking about getting myself a boa, and have spent a while looking online and at this site on information related to it. I also bought "The Boa Constrictor Manual" but have not read it in about a year. Here is the meat of my question.

I am looking to buy a boa as young as possible, and one that will grow to 7-9 feet at adulthood. I am also looking for a "classic" boa look, so while the pastel's and pearlescent are beautiful, I am looking for something more, well, classic. What species are recommended, when is the best time to start looking for neonatals, and does anyone know of a reputable breeder that I could possibly buy through?

Thanks
Michael

I think whenever you want is the best time to start. I don't have any classic looking boas for sale, but I have some hypos for insainly cheap if you are interested.

Look around your local area. Ask in pet shops, even if they don't sell boas they know of people that do. If you still can't find anyone I have a personal friend that may be able to help. He is a small scale breeder that has been in the business for a while. The differance is he really cares for his animals. His name is Harlin Wall. You can IM me if you would like his number...he will hook you up with a great deal on a "classic" boa.

Michael,
As far as when to buy there are baby boas around pretty much all year. Just be sure you have your cage all set up and ready for it before you buy one. Are you looking to buy locally or is shipping acceptable? If only local maybe someone on here knows someone in your area. Seattle right? I really would try to stay away from pet stores. I'm sure there are some good ones but in my OPINION they're overpriced on sub-par animals. Anyway, good luck in finding the right boa. -Chris
