UPDATE

Well at this very moment it appears she is ovulating. She has swelled up to the size of a football on the back half (just past the half mark going approx half way down the back half...does that make sense???lol)

Hopefully that means the job is being done...

I will keep updating..lol.

well I tried to take an ov pic but this was the position they were in when I went in to "annoy" them..

I know the cage is a mess, I am trying the "tried and true" leave them alone until it is done method..lol

I have seen worse during some breeding here, better not to disturb them.

They have a long ways to go yet. What you saw was just the pre-ovulation swell. I can't tell you how many times in the past I have made the same mistake. Good luck with them Randy. BTW...How large is your female?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the pre ov swell. It seemed to last about 3 days, starting very obviously on the right side, then spreading out to the left, and the male continued to court her for the majority of the time through it. The female is over 8' and a virgin (as far as I know, she was kept as a pet) her weight is quite high (up around 25 lbs)

Good luck Dave with your animals I hope your hypo hoggs and the others start kicking into gear for you..(I want to see what your next batch of hypo hoggs looks like)

Let me know if you guys think this could be the ovulation, or just another pre ov swell, I have heard of multiple pre ov swells before..so I am not getting my hopes up too much yet.
