Has anyone had the female lay inverted for no apparent reason. I don't know if she is gravid but I caught her laying inverted today. Do you think this is a good sign that she is gravid? Thanks

I have had a female lay inverted, having a false pregnancy. How about a pic?

Thanks Ed. If she does not give birth by June then I am going to start feeding her again. I rotated my albino male between these two but really concentrated on the het female since she was proven.

I have only seen a female Boa lay in the upside-down position maybe six times. Each time the female has been gravid. I just caught a female doing this twice in the last four days. I sure hope she is gravid with a good litter. She is the Pastel het for Albino that has made all the Pastel Albinos produced so far...

This female I caught on her back as well. I thought she was dead when I saw it. Over a month later here she is pregnant and getting fat.... :'(

My female lays inverted and on her side frequently. (she had a possible due date of April 11th) so as with Ed she obviously had a false pregnancy.

Thanks everyone. I have not caught her laying inverted ever since. I didn't see you ovulate or did she have a POS but she is always in the HCP. I hope she goes so I can prove them both out. Albino PH stripe and female stripe PH albino both are 66% so wish me luck. Thanks :'(

Certainly looks gravid to me, when was the last time you Fed her and what size prey item did you use? I would not feed until she pops.

She gave birth today and she is no longer a possible het but a 100% het. Its nice to see albinos in the litter. I dont know if the striping was from temp fluct or if the male albino proved out to be het stripe. What you think? Thanks

Very nice litter! Before she delivered her babies did you ever conclude she was 100% pregnant? Did she deliver on schedule?

I wasn't sure if she was prego or not. She didn't have a POS and I didn't see an ovulation. She stayed in the heat convservation position all the time.

I had 8 albinos het stripe or some might be stripe albinos and I dont know about the dbl het stripe albinos or some might be stripe het albinos. I will get the final count and post pics once they shed next week.
Thanks everyone for the compliments. Drew

Drew, I was just having a conversation about this topic on another fourm. I was explaining that a boa with striping might be called a het or poss het because the breeder wasn't 100% positive that is was the genetic striping coming through, or just abberency. Just a straight 100% Kahl striped het doesn't show striping normaly. What are your thought's here?

Ed,
I am not sure what is going on here. The mother is a kahl stripe het albino bought from Mark Kennedy and the father is a Kahl albino poss het stripe bought from Pete K. Most Kahl stripe is very clean but some of these are not that clean looks more like a temp fluct type striping or abberancy. I will have a better idea of the striping once they settle down and shed and post pics and see what everyone thinks. I will probably talk to Pete about this as well. I will repeat the breeding again this winter. Thanks Drew
