Question for those with lots of babies...

I just had a litter of babies and need to know what everybody uses for water dishes. Just wondering if there is anything that works well that is cheap and easy to get. I don't want to go to the pet store to spend that kind of money.

The little disposable tupperware containers work great! They have some like sandwich size! :'(

Thanks Ratman, but those are still too big, I am using shoe boxes for these guys and even if the sandwich sized ones fit in they would take up at least a third of the space.

Gotcha! They do make smaller round ones like fruit cups! :'(

I found that the little snack tubs tipped over to easy. I guess if you used those little snack cups you could glue something to the bottoms so they won't tip.

I went with the little ceramic bowls they sell at walmart. I don't rember the name of them but there are two white bowls per package and they are a little under $4 for a pack. They were in the cookware section.

What I do is buy the el cheapo foam bowls.. Cut the rim (top half or so) of one and set it upside down, then I set another foam bowl inside it.. Its like 99 cents for 40 bowls and works great.. Spills almost never happen unless the snakes work at it. And at this price you get to throw them away every water change rather then washing them.

I've been using this technique, for almost 4 years now (and still using it for the kenyans since all the bigger boas have outgrown them)

heres what i did. i bought the little cheap round gladware frruit bowls. i found them to tip over easily so i used the lid and siliconed the bowl right to the lid. it makes a nice wide base and they havent tipped them once yet. I bought them at the grocery store on sale 2 bucks for eight. ill try to take a pic later tonight to show what i mean

That sounds like a great idea. Where do you buy the el cheapo foam bowls at? Walmart? Smart & Final? Any grocery store? etc.

OK, I just got on here and saw this post...I use the disposable small size deli cups they sell for small snakes, I think they are 8 ounce size. They are very cheap and they are white so I wash them and clean them. They clean up well. They also do not spill to easy. They also fit in the 6qt shoe box very well. Hope this helps Andy

Thanks everyone, I actually thought about it and figured out what to use. I used to work in a restaraunt and we had these little sauce containers called rammakins (sp?). I went to a restaraunt supply store and bought a case of them, a little under a buck a piece but they do not spill and are reuseable. Everyone seems to have the water dish issue well in hand though, thanks for the responses.
