I was curious, at what month's do you introduce your male or female bci for breeding. According to the Reproduction of Boa's and Pythons, November thru April is the season. With the peak months of January, February, and March . But I see allot of boa's being born in July, August, and September. Which would leads me to believe the peak months to be later.
Please post your picks, and any comments would be great :'(

Hope it help, my experience is limited.

Some of my best years I started breeding in September. This was not one of your options in your poll though. This year I will be putting males in with females in the next ten days or so. Early October this year...

With the early intro were the clutches, also early? Or was the courting longer in your opinion? In my mad scientist kind of observation / note taking of boa's for sale. It seems like there is allot more of mid, to late year births. ( June, July, August, and Sept ) for sale. I can see this being a long term project >:( I hope this poll will give me some general input, and direction I'm looking for :'(
Now If I could just modify the poll to include Sept/Oct and Oct/Nov , and ditch April/May & May or later :-/ :-/ :-/

October for me! I will be intoducing the males into the females cages on the 8th this year! :'(
I have one pair to try this year. I noticed a pre ovulation twist (i think) in the middle of August. I introduced the male on September 1st. He's been all over her since.
I should add that my boas are not exposed to a natural photo period. As soon as I saw the twisting swelly kind of thing, I switched the light cycle from 13 on - 11 off, to 11 on - 13 off, waited 13 days until Sep. 1st and introduced the male.

I don't have a certian time I start. I feel a female that is ready to breed, has a kind of fat look to her, and that is when I intoduce the male. I have two females that are looking that way right now :'(

i usually introduce the male at the last week of sept but i start cycling in the beginning of august by dropping the temp on the females.
