Most of my boas spend most of their time trying to get under the newspaper even though I provide a hide box. A long time ago, I put stuff to climb on inside the enclosures and the boas never used them. Now the enclosures are very simple. I don't think the animals care.

I currently provide a hide and climbing branch or vine in all my boa cages. Just like Chad's boas, most of mine like to work their way under the newspaper. Two out of the eight Boas that I own use the branch I have provided for them on a regular basis. The rest could care less cwm33.gif.

He has one's that are a lil' bigger...(taller) I am going to get one that has a shelf... it is 17 1/2" tall... Most boas when they get bigger tend to stay on the ground or at the very least a place that will support all of there wheight... It is good to have tall cage for baby... So that they can clime... But to a baby boa the boaphile cages are perty tall... So I do belive that is why that he and most of the other redtailboa cage desinger's keep there cages low and stackable...
I hope I could shed some light on this subject for you...

Ps there are really light....

its all what you have and you are keeping. these cages are good for single pets but are wonders for multiple animals!! you can have more animals in a less amount of space. stackable baby!!!

with boas, when they are younger they are more arborial, but as they get older they are more terrestrial.

my boas love their branches. i have boas that are always on them and some that are always under the aspen. its what ever they choose.
