a burm condo
,
ok heres what i plan on doing for my burm,,,,getting 4 4ft cages,,all with pass exspandle ends to make 2 8ft cages,,,on two of those cages i will order the pass threw option,,so thats a 8ft TWO story cage,,,
i can do that right??
my main question is,,the size of the pass threw hole,,
how big is it???
it will have to be big enough for a adult burm, and thre quite thick,,,
if they dont come that big,,any way i can custom order bigger pass threw holes?????
thank you
jeff
keep it up

Hey now-

I'm pretty sure Jeff can make those pass through holes whatever size you like, but I'm not 100% sure. In my experience, he's been pretty open to custom-type mods, especially for larger orders like yours. I'm sure he'll be stoked to build a 2 wide x 2 tall Burm condo! Good luck!

hey,was that sopossed to be a incogneto"hint",,,i know 2ft wide 2ft high is kinda tight fitting,,but there will be two levels 8ft long for now,and evenutally when that gets tight fitting,,i will order two more 4ft cages,,and attach them so thats a 12ft 2 level cage,,the 12ft lenght will definitly make up for the depth

LOL :)

No, it wasn't meant as a hint...I know nothing about Burms except they get BIG...what I meant by "2 wide x 2 tall" was that you'd have two Boaphile 4' cages side by side, and 2 cages tall...that sounds like a plenty large cage to me!

Now the ultra-trick thing for Jeff to do is offer another exapandable cage option: "The Expandable Backside" (LOL). Basically take the expandable end idea and apply it to the back of the cage, allowing you to bolt another cage of similar size to the back, making a double-depth cage. Kinda like a double-wide mobile home, you know? It should be pretty easy...all he'd have to do is cut the opening in the back of one of his 4x2x1 cages and then bolt that to the front of another 4x2x1 cage, and take the door off the second cage...voila!

Jeff, better be careful, I may have to patent this idea...j/k!

This is a great idea! One thing you should keep in mind. I am not sure if you have thought of this or not but Burms can be quite tall. That is when wrapped around a rabbit or pig a Burm can be quite tall. I recommend people housing Burms use only the 17 1/2" or 18" tall cages. A 12" tall cage is too short. That is the only thing. So two now and three cages later would be very cool. Yes I can do a larger vertical pass through as well. A 10" diameter hole should be large enough for even a 18' Burm.

Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!

Jeff
