I need to know what the best cages for boas are. Right now I have the 48" Custom Neodesha ones. I really like them, but they take up a lot of space. I know there are newer ones out there that don't take up as much space and are more efficient on heating. The problem is I don't know which ones to buy. My snake room is approx 12 feet square with 7 foot ceilings. I only have 6 large boas right now, but I'm getting more. I plan on redoing my snake room next summer. Have to save up ya know. LOL. Right now I'm looking at the Boaphile cages and the Vision cages. These are the only 2 I'm considering right now. I checked out the Freedom Breeders and I don't really want those. What type of cages does everyone else use and how do you like them? Are they easy to heat and clean? What sizes do you prefer? Let me know.
Thanks,
Linda :D

I just checked out the Drastic Plastic cages. They look good and the price can't be beat! Has anyone else used these cages? Do you like them? I'm thinking at that great price it's the way to go.

I have one of Jeff's regular line 4' cage. The only difference between it and a Drastic cage is the Drastic cage doesn't have the 1/2" recessed bottom.

I have to say that it's the best cage I've ever used! It holds temps and humidity very well. I love it because of how light it is....makes it easy to move. It's very well built and super easy to keep clean.

I plan on buying many more of these cages. I just hope Jeff doesn't raise the price before I can raise the funds! ;D

I have both cages and I like the Boaphile's cage the best. The Boaphile cage holds humidity really well and helped me with a Salmon that consistently had bad sheds. Once I moved this animal to the Boaphile cage (she was in my Vision for the past year) her second shed was all one piece. I was very relieved. I compared the humidity in the two cages and got 45% RH in the vision versus 65-70% in my Boaphile cage. They are also cheaper, take up less room, are lighter, and easier to stack. The Boaphile cage is better hands down.. I just ordered another and will be ordering several more over the next few months.

As far as cages go I have always built my own. That way I can build them to the size I need or want. I just finished two 7x3x2 foot cages complete with lights (white and black lights) and heating for just under $300. The RH is right at 65-70%.I like to give my snakes enough room to do what snakes do. (Climb, move around ect...) Just my 2 cents. ;D Good luck with finding the right cage for you.
