I've asked Jeff twice about this question but I guess he's a busy guy... Has anyone heard anything about Jeff getting into the arboreal cages? The construction and materials used in Boaphile cages would be great for the high humidity and constant spraying of arboreal cages. Any feed back guys would be great...

Darren,
Check the Tree Boa Caging section here on the "Tank", I think this might be the info you are looking for. :)

As of April 6th, 2002 I have drawn four new Arboreal cages. I have to draw them first and then build them. Thinking them through is the toughest part. These are the first three Arboreal cages that will be offered by Boaphile Plastics. The sizes of these first cages are as follows:
Length X Depth X Height
23 1/2" X 18" X 18"
23 1/2" X 18" X 24"
35 1/2" X 18" X 18"
35 1/2" X 18" X 24"
The cages will have a downward swinging 1/4" Plexiglas door. A single door allowing total access to the interior of the cage. The ends of the cages will have two sets of slots in them. Each set consists of eight 1/8" slots that are 4" long. These slots run horizontally. There are two sets of these slots on each end for ventilation. One set is located at the top rear of the end while the other is 3" above the bottom of the cage at the rear. A little bracket will hold a sliding plastic "door" allowing for adjustment of the opening for customizing the amount of ventilation required. I think the design as I have it finally worked out is basically a simple design that allows the kind of flexibility that may be required by the most fastidious of Arborealists. At least that is my hope.
The door is held up 3" allowing for deep substraight or even a vivarium type set up if desired. The Arboreal cages will of course be waterproof just like all our other cages are. We will also be offering a very cool black or white florescent fixture that can be installed. I will be offering the option of a "Sideways Pass-Through" as well allowing two Animals to pass back and forth between two cages without physically moving the herps from one cage to the other. They can move over on their own. Cool huh!?
They will of course be totally stackable, and perhaps not most importantly... they will look GOOD! I can't wait to get the first ones made!
I wrote that April 6th. Today it's May 14th and I have those four cages machined. Now if people would just quit ordering stuff I would have the time to put them together. I don't really want a lul in the cage activity but I would like ot put these little guys together. I will soon... hopefully soon. These are going to knock your socks off!

.Thanks for the responses guys....... I had looked for a thread regarding the cages earlier but didn't come across any....... I've got another order coming down this week Jeff and as soon as you start constructing the new arboreal cages I'll most likely be right on top of them... I'm very happy with my Boaphile cages. The arboreal cages should prove to be excellent as well given the construction materials used.

Good Googly Moogly man. Would you just hurry and hire some migrant workers to help you out until you get caught up. We really want those Arboreal Cages.
