I bought myself 2 red tail boas +/- 4 years old. I didn't have a cage when I bought them, so I had to leave them at my friends house who had the space to accommodate in his cages untill I finsh my cage. Now my problem is that I finshed my cage and now they are breeding at my friends house!!!!!!!!!! So can I move them know or must I wait a few weeks?

I know Francois. He is expecting babies at the end of Oct. I helped him move his snakes to his house a week after we first saw them mating. She is now gavid and he is all so looking at having a family shortly.

A buddy of mine who is in the military had to move because of the military. His 11 ft burm was gravid/ pregnent. she ended up laying 9 viable eggs and 24 dead eggs. Many of the eggs were double sized and when he opened them they were eggs that an egg had developed over the top. He also had a litter of boas and there were more slugs and still births from the same parents than usual.
basicaly what i am saying you can do what you want but i wood wait until your new family arrives. b27.gif

it is advisable not to move them.
but if you must then you must.
It also depends on the distance.

I am the one bodeboa was talking about.
My move was a long distance trip.
and I also had to live in a hotel room for two - three weeks.

by burm only had nine good eggs.
one of my boas had 22 good babies.
the other had six and lots of slugs and a still birth

oh wait...they are in the process of breeding?
in that case...wait till they are done....
isn't it kinda late in the year?
what kind of boas are they?

Sorry to hear about your loss!  :-/ But this is why we are learning from each other! cwm15.gif
I only moved them a week after I introduced them to each other(friends house).
As soon as they had settled in their new home(my place), I caught them at it again.
I bought them, when our Winter had just started.(South Africa) And it is the time for boa to breed isn't it cwm4.gif.

I don't have a clue as from what side of the boa family my boas belong to- but I will be posting some pictures later this week!!!!

Then all of you can help me with it!!!!!
