Hi,

Anyone know websites that specialize in big housing for boas, either out of word or plastic. My girl is very tempermental and I want to get her out of the aquarium I have her in becuase it has a flimsy screentop...looking for something with glass and definitely locks!!! Any suggestions?

Or if you live in California near San Francisco and know a place to go lemme know

Thanks
Dave

Dave,
You might want to consider a Boaphile Plastics cage, the 422D.  You can get a flex watt heat tape pre-installed, as well as a flourescent light and other options.  They are light weight, expandable, have a descent price, and are designed for boas 8).  The 'shelf' is a nice option too.  Check them out at this web site:  http://www.boaphileplastics.com/drastic.html
You won't be disappointed.  Oh yeah, the new models are virtually escape proof with locking latches :'(.

PT,

Is this something I can keep my snake living in for a long time? I have her in a four foot by 3 foot by 3 foot aquarium...unfortuantely the top is a sliding top...I thought those type that you are talking about are used at pet shops but the snakes arent kept in for good. I really need something that my snake can stay in and last for the rest of her life...also I want to put in a branch and woodchips on the floor of the housing....would these still work? Do you have a picture of the biggest one you sell? Oh yeah..I also have a big water bowl for her...shes about 6 years ol and about 6 feet long and starting to grow a little more..I dont feed her every two weeks.,,maybe every other month...I didnt want her to get to big an when I tried feeding her every three weeks she didnt want anything to do with it...very tempermental...since she doesnt get taken out often, she likes to snap a lot when someone comes in an out of the room...long story short I had a motorcycle accident and became paralyzed...i dont take her out of the aquarium becuase she would always try to tangle herself in my wheelchair...and it takes forever to get her out of the wheels and stuff. So, with that said..if you have any suggestions that would be great...I looked at the website but the big holders didnt seem very big and liveable for her

I just did some business with adam ubides in NY and he is a carpenter and offered me some of his plans to cheaply make a very presentable cage that can pretty much be considered a peice of furniture. His web sie is www.jungleherps.com now his web site is still very much under construction but his # is 1 845 651 5106, he is an awesome guy and would either help you or put you on the track. I hope this may be of some help, i would have given this info earlier but i just signed on to this think tank and cant get enough of it.
