This is in no way intended to kiss up to Jeff or Joel, but as many of you have no doubt seen, there are alot of cage options begining to show up out there. I would say go ahead and look at them. I have been to several shows and checked them out. They are nothing but cheap ripoffs of the boaphile. I am sure that alot of you may disagree with me, but I have found that when marketing and selling products, it is most often the innovator or the originator of the product that maintains its quality and doesn't cut corners. Several competitors are constructing cages that are totally copies of the boaphile cages. I have a few freinds that tried to save a few bucks and go with the copycat cages and they are sorry, faulty workmanship, poor lighting fixtures and heating problems. I just wanted to put in my 2cents for Boaphile cages, and for a few more bucks, do it right and get the best out there, oh yeah, get the original. I have two and will probably be getting two more very soon. Thanks.

Thanks Scooter J46!
I couldn't agree with you more. I really don't understand it. I guess I first thought about going into the cage business about 13 years ago. When I found another fellow already making melamine cages nationally (Custom Cages) I decided I could not do them better than he was already doing them and really my pride would not let me just copy what he was doing.
Then about four years ago I decided to figure out plastic. EVERY single design we now use is mine. I have not copied anything from anyone. I had people tell me to check out this other guys stuff or that other guys stuff. I wouldn't do it. I knew my own creativity would enable me to build the best plastic cages and racks anywhere without copying anyone. I go to shows and inevitably I watch the competition show up at my booth and look carefully over my stuff. How cheesy is that? These guys have no pride. I have walked by the competition's booths and avert my eyes so as not to pollute my own creativity with their copies of what I have already done. I have looked at the other web sites. I do know what's out there but you can't see what exactly people are doing without seeing the stuff up close and personal. I walked by one booth in Chicago and this guy had his entourage there working his booths. I did not look over at all however, I could see out of the corner of my eye every eye in that booth watching me as I passed and looked at the herps across the isle. I walked by and chuckled to myself. LOL
Some of my competitors have even ordered from me only to start their own little cage or rack business after doing so. How low class is that? I have seen, so far, three new cage companies pop up with Boaphile Plastics copy cat cages only to see them go out of business leaving whatever customers they drummed up hanging high and dry if they need service down the road. There are several more trying to get a foot hold now. They will come. They will go. We are the longest running hand made affordable cage/rack business with nearly four years in the plastic business and over 18 years in the herp business and we are here for good. Years from now when you need a replacement door or a matching cage, we will still be here setting the standard.
I know it sounds like bragging and I guess ultimately it really is but I am very proud of what we have done and the great products and service we provide. It is a real shame that much of the completion out there does not seen to have the same pride. It is however not at all disappointing knowing they do not have the creativity to build or come up with their own designs and have no choice but to try to copy us.
Sorry for venting. It is perhaps all the glue I sniff nearly every day of my life trying to keep up with our overwhelming orders that does this to me...
Thanks again Scooter!
Jeff
