Nothing yet... I just checked her at about 3:00 PM this afternoon and she had her tail up. Just taking that pre-birth waxy stool break. Still waiting. Waiting for some rain. I can wait. Really I can. It's no big deal really. OK I'm a little bit anxious. Alright I'll admit it I'm a lot anxious. Are you happy now! This waiting is killing me!!! I'm pulling my hair out and I don't have any!!!

My wife was just trying to tell me something but me and that rat were having a staring contest so I couldn't listen very well but the rat won anyways.... Hold On....Ok, I think I've had enough coffee now cwm24.gif(LOL)...Man, where is a barometric pressure drop when you need one... I think I'll go check NOAA...............
We hope the rats help... And look on the bright side Jeff. Just think of how sore your head would be if you DID have hair. Thanks for letting us be anxious with you!

Hey Jeff,
You've got a number friends sitting out here in the "waiting room" wondering what's going on in that "delivery room" and hoping for the best ;)...
Any news? ??? .....
Sweet goodness the suspense is incredible!!!!

OK, the storms have past and after a full day of sitting around with her tail wagging in slow motion she seems to be settling down. The barometric pressure is on the rise now and it looks like we'll have to wait a couple more days. It's supposed to rain here again on Wednesday so hopefully then. Although I didn't tell her she HAD to give birth on a rainy day. She may decide on her own that despite the higher pressure and the lack of precipitation. Sometimes they just do their own thing for me too. You bring them into this world. You raise them up. Buy their books, send them to school, feed them all the rats they could ever need and what do they do? Brats! Anyhow I'll take those little babies any time now. I was up three times last night. One time I half dressed myself in my half sleeping stupor for the trip to the basement. By the time I got back to the bed I realized I had to get undressed again! What a moron. Up again at 5:30 AM. This time I just stayed up. Hopefully tonight I will be able to relax all night and let nature take or not take it's course. I'll keep you updated.

WELL??? Just checking to see if she decided to put your mind at ease yet? Probably not, they never seem to do what you want them too. I've been waiting for some colubrids to give me eggs for a couple of days now too, I'm getting tired of going to the basement so often...Let us know how it's going, and by the way,
Have a good one cwm11.gif

Not good,
16 huge slugs. Four Albinos, a little too early. Not sure if any will make it or not. I hope so as the color blows away their Daddy by about three shades. Five hets, three are still alive. Very depressing. One saving fact could be if any of the Albinos survives to shed and thrive. Color that will make your eyes water. Not kidding.
I am more than a little depressed about it though. Not suicidal but tired of saying "next year" but next year...

Well Jeff, I'm sorry to hear that the litter did not turn out as you had hoped. But all we can keep doing is saying "maybe next year" Good luck with the remaining babies, and best of luck with all your other boas breeding this year.

Hey Jeff,
Sorry to hear of the unfortunate outcome. Its nice to know that the little ones who made it have survived their first few days and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that they continue to do well.

8) Bad times... tough break man, thats definatly a buzzkill.. Every silver lining has a touch of grey so be that much more thankful for the ones you do have.....
Do you think it could have had something to do with the inbreeding?... along with what I hear that albinos are 'touchy' in general, add the inbreeding factor and it seems 'doomed' from the start.... for the boas atleast..
Have you ever kept records of or checked back to see the 'sucess percentages' of the breedings where inbreeding had no factor in the 'lines' as compared to the ones that have had some sort of inbreeding within the line?... check it out sometime, Im curious too see what the 'outcome' would be....
