Yesterday (April 16 th) I had to make the rounds about 7 times checking to see if any of three females that are now due had given birth yet. The third time I went in that day, I asked my 5 year old if she wanted to come with me to check for babies. She said, "Sure". We went down cautiously looking into each of the expected cages only to find fat restless soon to be Mommies that were not quite ready to drop. I was heading down for the fifth or sixth time when my 5 year old wanted to know if she could come with. I said, "Sure". I waited as she got on some shoes and then while holding her little hand while we walked down the steep stairs into the dungeon that is my big snake room, she explained to me that "Cogi" our cat would like to come downstairs sometime too. I didn't tell her that I didn't allow any stinky cats in my snake rooms but simply listened as she talked my ear off. Well needless to say we looked and looked. Nothing. Nobody doing anything but crawling around still trying to find that idea position and time to give birth.

We then went back upstairs. My five year old was then asked by her mother and my lovely bride of now over 23 years, "Any babies yet baby"? Her response was matter of fact without any idea that what she said might sound very cute to us, "No babies yet. Not a one". We just thought that was hilarious. "Not a one". Who would a thunk it. . .

Very cute... kids are so funny... I have a five year old nephew... Just as cute as a button.. lol
Well any way I was letting him hold my redtail and my scared to death of snakes mom was there... When he would not hold it at first I uged him on by saying he would not hurt a fly and that he was harmless... Well not taking much to convince a five year old it worked... after holding it for awhile he turned to my mom and asked if she would like a turn.. being the palite lil' boy that he is... she refused of course and then he tryed to get to hold it by saying "he would not hurt a fly and he is totaly harmless Grandma"... With all the confidance in the world like he had be personly observing this snake and had given it his personal seal of approval... I was cracking up over this... quit funny if you ask me....
