The following images might be considered disturbing to some. Scrolling down negates my liability to your therapy....
You've been warned already....

After but I did wash my hands before transfering him to his cage. He just hates when I come in from above to grab him. I'm just asking for a bite.

The funny thing about getting bitten, it looks like Diego actually got me in 3 different places on my knuckles, thus 3 different bites though I only remember really one bite.

A snake hook or other device to handle them easier might not be a bad idea for you to consider. Especially if you have to pick them up from above, that stimulates their natural "Oooh crap its a preditor" gene sometimes, and they will not strike snake hooks (Well none ever have that I have seen anyhow).
Those are some beautiful snakes and some awesome feeding pics, thanks for sharing them with us!

Great idea but I'd rather just let him know biting me accomplishes nothing and maybe he'll stop.

Or maybe you'll just be his favorite human chew toy for the rest of his life..... ;D
Some boas are just like that, especially around feeding time. The bright side is it's not a 17' retic! :'(
By the way... Did your boa actually squeeze the eyes out of that rodent, or did it happen during a prekill event? Either way, funny stuff.... ;D

I guess I havce already accepted 1 problem child in the family is better than all 5 snakes being problem children.
As far as the eye goes, it was not quite all the way out but it was during the squeeze vs the sudden stop against a solid object. That's Pirata and she is the only one of my snakes that constricts that hard. Maybe she likes feeling bones crush. Who knows...

Cool pics and cool snakes...Personally I use heavy gloves....Not to protect me but to protect the snakes from getting hurt....Ive had some that were like that at first but they seem to learn after a few times...Good luck I wish I had a camera ready when one of our females missed the rats body and got the tail lol talk about funny
