This is one of the racks, it holds 56 shoe boxes when its full. Heat is three stripes on 3 inch flexwatt on the back wall. The other racks I built I put the heat in the floor of each level, this works much better! It allows you to keep the heat lower and have better control of the temperature. This rack is make of melamine.... it works very well for me.... but it weighs about 15 tons! I'd gladly trade it for plastic, but the thing works perfect and its done. Hope this gives a few ideas. If you have the $$ I'd buy some of the plastic racks on this website, they are very nice.

Nice rack doc!! You said the other racks you have are heated from the bottom,what did you use? was it flexwat,and where can i get it?

I use three inch flexwatt on the racks, the Beanfarm is the company I use. You can find them on Kingsnake.
