All she needs is a stud.

Thanx!!!! I don't know if she could be called a pastel, but i think i could breed her to a nice colored male and start ''making'' my own pastels by selective breeding!! She has less black on her patern and sides than other normals, thats why i'm thinking she could start a nice project!! I would be starting out from zero, just like Jeff did to refine and make better animals with each breeding!! I really need your opinions on her having some pastelism,so please help me out here :-/!!

Or at least do you think her decendants would be ''refined'' by selective breeding?

She is really nice.....as far as being a pastel.........on my monitor she seems like she has a lot of orange and I see black speckling.
I will have to wait till my boyfriend goes to bed and play on the super computer. Then I will be able to tell.

Personally, I only refer to an animal as being "Pastel" when it is from one of Jeff Ronne's Pastel bloodlines.
Having said that, she IS nice looking, and WILL give you some nice babies. Names don't mean much really, as long as you like her and have fun ;D Isn't that what it's really about?

Hey Jade, on my monitor she seems like she has a lot of orange and I see black speckling.
Color has nothing to do with pastelism. It's a fact that the ones who have the nice color are preferd, but one without the nice color is still a pastel, because pastels are those with a odd washedout pattern and sides, not just nice colored animals. The ones who have the nice color have it becuase most of the black is striped away, making the underlaying color more visible. Also,a pastel can still have black on it,but the ones with the lesser black look nicer! Color and cleaness are just a bonus you get by selective breeding! All i know about pastels i learned from Jeff,I'm glad i did cause he's the term originator! Hey Suri, [left]Personally, I only refer to an animal as being "Pastel" when it is from one of Jeff Ronne's Pastel bloodlines Jeff's pastels are the best! But they aren't the only pastels out there.Even he recognizes that there are alot of other pastel bloodlines unrelated to his.Don't get me rong here guys,i truelly apreciate your feedback ,and respect your opinions,so i thank you very much for that! :'( I Don't think she's a pastel, but i think she has the ingredients to create some nice ones!Watcha think?

I know that....it just makes a big difference how the animal looks from one monitor to another.......on this one she looks very different.
A pastel has less black and are washed out looking the trait is also polygenic..........if she is a pastel it will be passed on to the offspring.
To me she looks like a very nice boa with some nice color but, she doesn't look like a pastel.
I have four pastels and they are all different looking as far as color goes.

Hey, Your pastels may look different because they have been line bred for many generations already(if you got them from a breeder it is). This girl is a ltc,she was imported from colombia as a baby.I think she's a dimond in the ruff, just needs to be refined!Watcha think?

I say go for it.......she has some nice orange coloration and is pretty clean........
What are you thinking of putting her with?
(pastel, hypo,.........the endless possibilities......)

Hey, You understand what i mean? If this girl gives me nicer and more washed out babies then these will be new line pastels cuase they will be produced from a wild caught mother, not from an already established line!!! I'm thinking of getting her a nice colored pretty washed out normal male, one who's not related to any pastel or morph line,i'll have to keep the best animals from that breeding and breed the best male back to her!Sounds like alot of work, but i'm willing to do it.I'm never going to be a bigtime breeder, and this project may not be a very special one for some people, but it will give me some good experience and personal satisfaction ;D!!! I feel pretty pumped about this project, wish me luck and thanks for the discussion ;D!!!

Wow sounds like This will take more time than work :(. If you want to start with normals and refine the breed from there then I say power to you and go for it. But it will take around 4 years for each generation to be able to breed again. If I were you I would get REALLY cool norm. or a pastel to kick start your project. Even if you were to use an animal from someone elses line you could still creat your own 8). It may be more fun starting with norms though...D) Good Luck.

Just Jamie's Idea of the Day! (LOL)
