Well my salmon has entered into a shed cycle and has been off the albino female for the first time in over 5 weeks.  He had been courting her very heavily prior.

I noticed some defenite swelling a few weeks ago (pictures posted of that posted previously).  It seemed to go down... now there seems to be swelling again.  Again,  not sure if this is ovulation or if she's gravid or what... still got my eye out for a POS though.  She is now sitting curled up on the hot side.

Here's the male in shed... this is a flash shot (others were with no flash... just the flourescant lighting in the room).

I'll bet you $100 she is gravid. I have heard that some gravid Albinos look a little bit purplish and that one looks purplish to me. Is she? Purplish I mean.

I sure hope so. I'm really anxious to finally produce some little baby boas of my own. This girl has thrown 32+ litters in the past and the salmon is a possible super, hopefully the odds will fall in my favor.

No, she's not purplish. I just went and double checked on her in person to see. That effect is from taking pictures with no flash, hard to get the white balance just right. Its a little on the "cool" side (more blue, less red, evident by the newspaper.. compare the newspaper coloration of the flash pic compared to the non-flash pics).

Ive got a female boa over here that is banana yellow that turned a nice lavendar when I stuck a male in . Seems that that color in the albino females does kinda go hand in hand with hormonal changes . Best of luck with her .
